The Indian E-commerce giant Flipkart is ready and all set to take on the Amazon’s Exclusive OnePlus Two with Motorola Moto X Play for a steep price of Rs 25,000. Flipkart wants to price the Moto X Play aggressively so that it can not just only take on the OnePlus Two, but also compete with it’s sales.
Moto X Play is one of the most budget friendly version of the newly announced Moto X series smartphones. It does lacks on some features and specifications compared to other high end Moto X smartphones from the Moto X 2015 series. And Flipkart solely believes that Rs. 25000 should be a very competitive pricing, especially competing with OnePlus Two.
Talking about the competition, the Moto X Play has two advantages over the OnePlus Two. The Moto X Play comes with a 21 megapixel of rear camera, compared to 13 megapixel on the OnePlus Two. And the Moto X Play also comes with a huge battery of 3630mAh. Which is again higher compared to the 3300mAh on the OnePlus Two.
Moto X Play: Key Features
The handset comes with a 5.5 inches of 1920x1080p FullHD IPS Display falling into the phablet category. The display looks nice and vivid and is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for added protection.
In terms of internals, the Moto X Play comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, and it is the same exact processor which is quite a lot infamous for heating issues in some of the budget Android smartphones. Although it’s been floating around for a while that Qualcomm has been working over it, making it a lot better in terms of temperature control. So, right now at this moment only time can tell if the Snapdragon 615 processor will work out as cool as any other processor out there, or will suffer like most of the Snapdragon 615 processors. Whatever it is, I’m pretty sure that with this processor the Moto X Play won’t be slacking in the performance department.
So just to compliment the Quad-Core 1.7 Ghz Snapdragon 615, the Moto X Play also comes with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It also comes in 2 different storage variant. One is 16GB and another one is 32GB, apart from the storage quantity there is no physical difference between both of the variants. Alongside that, if in case you need more space to store your music, images, documents and data, then you can always use the MicroSD card slot on the Moto X Play which supports unto 128GB of expandable storage via MicroSD card.
Talking about images, the Moto X Play is believed to take some amazing and stunning images with it’s 21-megapixel sensor which is fully capable of shooting in 1920x1080p FullHD video at 30fps. The back camera also comes with some of the features that we generally ask for while choosing a good camera smartphone and i.e. Geo-tagging, touch to focus, face detection, panorama, auto-HDR, etc. To click images in low light, Motorola also provides you with dual-tone LED flash which is again supposed to work better than those traditional LED flashes. On the front, it comes with a 5-megapixel camera, which also has couple of party tricks up it’s sleeves.
The Moto X Play comes with a humongous 3630 mAh battery. And just to give you a reference, the iPhone 6 comes with an 1800mAh-ish battery, which is comparatively very small in comparison to the one on the Moto X Play. It is believed that that the Moto X Play can easily go through an entire day, and maybe also live the second day halfway through, with still having some juice before connecting it with the charger.

OnePlus Two: Key Features
OnePlus Two is one of the most popular and the most wanted smartphone right now. The market needs for the OnePlus Two is so much, that the company cannot meet the demands of the OnePlus Two, hence selling devices on the basis of invite system. Where you get an invite code to share with your friends or family. And without that code you cannot buy the OnePlus Two. Sometimes this invite system can get really annoying, if you don’t have any good luck with you friends. But for most part if you try hard and hunt for it. You are most likely to receive one invite from somewhere or the other.
The OnePlus Two is the successor to the OnePlus One, that I currently use as my daily driver. And considering the fact that there is not much of a drastic difference, I rather plan on sticking with the OnePlus One. The OnePlus One also came with the same kind of invite system. And at the initial sales period of the OnePlus One, getting an invite was a big challenge. Thankfully OnePlus is trying to roll out the invites much faster than before. And also is trying to keep up with the manufacturing of the device itself.
The OnePlus Two comes with the same 5.5 inch 1920x1080p display from the OnePlus One. And apparently in terms of specifications it is the same display as the Motorola Moto X Play. Apart from that the OnePlus Two features a Snapdragon 810 v2.0 processor and 4GB RAM, which is apparently a better deal than the Moto X Play in a lot of ways.
Why Moto X Play?
It is a pretty interesting question to answer, as why the Moto X Play and not something else, just like the OnePlus Two. And to be honest if I had only Rs. 25,000 to spend, I wouldn’t have bought the Moto X Play for a couple of reasons, but you might. So if you are like me, and value the performance over anything then the Moto X Play might not be for you. But if you want a greater camera, great built, great features and a couple of other popular Motorola features, then you should really look out for the Motorola Moto X Play.
Overall all I would like to say is that the Motorola Moto X Play is a totally capable device although it would’ve been amazing if Motorola could just have provided the same device for a much lesser price. I can see why people would like to buy the Moto X Play. But will I recommend it to anyone? Only time will tell unless and until our full review hits the blog.
