The Zenfone 2 Laser comes in 3 different flavors, i.e. 5 inch (ZE500KL), 5.5 inch (ZE550KL) and 6.0-inch (ZE601KL) versions with upto 1920 x 1080-pixel Full HD display. The Zenfone 2 Laser also comes with the latest and toughest Corning Gorilla Glass 4. And it boasts upto octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm® Snapdragon processor. With up to 3GB RAM.

The Taiwanese Smartphone giant Asus recently held their global launch event on 6th August in New Delhi, India where they announced a couple of their new Smartphones and Products. The entire event was hosted by Cyrus Sahukar to fill in the dead atmosphere with joy and fun, and to accompany him the ex-CEO and Chairman of Asus Jonney Shih was on stage along with couple of other Asus representatives to launch all the new devices that were launched and unveiled during the Asus ZenFestival. Also, since Asus wanted to focus particularly on their new upcoming lineup of the smartphone called Zenfone Selfie, they invited a popular Bollywood sensation Sonakshi Sinha as a Brand Ambassador, particularly for the Asus Zenfone Selfie. Overall we saw a total of 6 new addition to the Zenfone and ZenPad families at the star-studded ZenFestival event in New Delhi, India.

#Zenfone 2 Deluxe: See The Crystal Miracle

Asus Zenfone 2 specifications launched in IndiaZenfone 2 Deluxe (ZE551ML) is the main flagship device for Asus this year. Overall in terms of internal specifications we didn’t saw much of a difference from the last year model Asus Zenfone 2. Just few changes here and there, and some spec bump. But the most aw-striking feature of the Zenfone 2 Deluxe was the new beautiful and gorgeous multifaceted polygonal finish accentuating the signature ZenFone 2 ergonomic arc design. I can see all the females/ ladies getting attracted towards that design. But I don’t think that any guy will like to pick up a fancy looking device. Thankfully you still have the option to remove the back panel. So just in case you don’t like their new engineered artwork you can always replace it with the plain and minimal back cover, that we already saw with the Asus Zenfone 2.

In terms of the specifications the Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe features the same 5.5 inches of Full HD IPS display, 13MP/5MP improved PixelMaster cameras, 2.3Ghz 64-bit Intel® Atom processor with 4GB RAM and 4G/LTE connectivity. It’s been also said that it comes with ASUS BoostMaster fast-charge technology for 60% capacity in just 39 minutes.

#Zenfone 2 Laser: See at The Speed of Light

Asus_Zenfone_laser_specifications_launched_in_india_Asus Zenfone 2 Laser is a whole new another line-up of fast camera dedicated smartphone from Asus. Which isn’t that much specification oriented but the main motto behind this smartphone with Asus is that it can practically shoot and click images with zero shutter lag and can focus on subjects in less than 0.3 seconds. All thanks to the laser autofocus system that we saw first with the LG G3, this new smartphone from Asus can focus on subjects instantly even in low light.

During the launch event, the smartphone’s auto-focusing capability was demonstrated against iPhone 6 Plus and some other popular well known flagship smartphones out there. Although I would’ve loved to see them compare it with the LG G4’s auto-focusing system. Which could’ve been a real life challenge for them. But sadly they did not bring the LG G4 on the table for the comparison.

#Zenfone Selfie: See The Perfect You

asus_zenfone_selfie_sonakshi_sinha_13MP_front_cameraThe Zenfone Selfie is another smartphone lineup that right now Asus is caring a lot after the Zenfone 2 Deluxe and till now, it is Asus’s baby. Targeting towards the market of selfie lovers Asus brings a fully-fledged  13 megapixel of front facing camera with the same pixel master technology that we saw on the other models of the Asus Zenfones. This is the first time when Asus offered such a big sensor for the front-facing camera and each and every other software options that were earlier dedicated to the back camera only. It also comes with the PixelMaster technology, so now if you want you can also take some great stunning selfies in low light as well. The camera module of the Asus Zenfone selfie also come with a dual-tone LED flash, so you can have that bright, illuminated low-light selfies even in the complete dark environment.

Asus has very big hopes with this particular model of the Zenfone, i.e. Asus Zenfone Selfie and to demonstrate that, they also had the Bollywood Sensation Sonakshi Sinha live on stage to launch and demonstrate the Zenfone Selfie.

In terms of specifications again, Asus isn’t focusing much on it and is totally on the opposite end. And instead of selling high-end hardware, Asus is trying to sell high-end software features. And surprisingly it is working quite well. Being an avid geek, you might always put up specifications in first priority when it comes to comparison. But when you take a look at the average consumer’s point of view.  You’ll realize that the average consumer does not cares about specifications. They don’t care about the numbers. What they want is a phone that can instantly make them look beautiful, sexy and stunning. And the Asus ZenFone Selfie exactly does that. With some live real-time image rendering, Asus tries to first track down a particular face in the frame and then starts to affect the particular parts of the face. All these technical things that break down into very easy and intuitive way of making one look beautiful, with few taps. And that is something that an end consumer wants.

#Asus Zenfone Max: See for Longer

asus_Zenfone_max_5000_mAh_battery_long_lasting_batteryThe Asus Zenfone Max made it’s first global debut in this Asus Zenfestival 2015 in New Delhi, India. And this new Zenfone is highlighted as the Zenfone Max (ZC550KL). The Asus Zenfone Max is completely dedicated to the ones looking for some huge and high-end battery that can last a while. And that’s why it packs in a huge 5000mAh lithium-polymer battery, which can basically last days with normal to heavy usage. Design wise the Zenfone Max is a little bit on the thicker end hence accommodating the huge 5000 mAh battery.

Again Asus Zenfone Max is one of those devices that Asus is not trying to sell with their specifications and that’s why Asus Zenfone Max packs in just very bare essential needs when it comes to the specifications. Asus Zenfone Max boasts a clear 5.5-inch IPS display with wide viewing angles, protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for unrivaled scratch-resistance, strength, and durability. At the heart of the Zenfone Max it comes with Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor with 2GB of RAM. It also comes with 13MP/5MP PixelMaster cameras with a wide f/2.0 aperture, and the rear camera also boasts the laser auto-focus for sharp, near instant shots.

#Asus ZenPad 7.0 (Z370) and 8.0 (Z380)

The Asus ZenPad 7.0 and ZenPad 8.0 are two different tablets offered by Asus for very different markets. Stay tuned for more information on both of these tablets.

Bottom Line

Asus did a great job in terms of these products and the entire launch event although I really wish instead of breaking down all the features into different smartphones Asus could simply incorporate it into one single smartphone. And after that I could surely say, that particular version of the Zenfone is the flagship killer and is the only phone to go for. But apparently due to the breakdown of different features into different smartphones, one comes with one strong and some weak point. Although, as of now seems like Asus has no plans to conquer the high-end flagship market. But I am convinced that if they try, they can surely give other manufactures a run for their money.
